MSI Micro Star International is een grote hardware fabrikant met een zeer goede reputatie op het gebied van grafische kaarten (Gaming), moederborden en en complete computersystemen zoals desktops en performance / gamers laptops Deze MSI MSI NX6200AX is een recentere uitvoering uit de entry level line GPU modellen van de zesde generatie Geforce processoren die door populiariteit voor gebruik in AGP systemen, werkend op Vista en geupgrade werden naar Winodws 7 moesten draaiden en daardoor langer zijn verkocht tot ver in 2008. De Geforce 6 series waaronder de Geforce 6200 was namelijk in staat deze besturingsystemen goed te ondersteunen met genoeg grafische potentie.

De NV44 GPU A1 is de laatste GPU uitvoering van de Geforce 6 op basis van de 110 nanometer techniek die later is geintroduceerd dan bijvoorbeeld de Geforce 6800 , deze is namelijk gebasseerd op de 130 nanometer techniek. De MSI NX6200AX Geforce 6200 is voorzien van een iets aangepaste grafische architectuur en eigeschappen dan de Geforce 6600, met minder Pixel Shader (4 pipes) en Texture Mapping Units maar wel voorzien van drie Vertex / Shader Pipelines en 2 Geometrie Units . De Geforce 6200 grafische processor beschikt over een veel krachtigere GPU dan bijvoorbeeld de Geforce FX series in het entry level segment en dan dan ook menige AGP grafische kaart of een onboard grafische adapter. De GPU ondersteund de laaste versie van DirectX9.0 C versie met de ondersteuning van Shader model 3.0 & de CINEFX 3.0 engine voor de Shading eigenschappen in games en 3D applicaties. Daarnaast ondersteund de Geforce 6200 de Ultrashadow II techniek voor 3D shaduwen, diverse Antialiasing en Anisotropic Filtering technieken (intellisample 3.0, zonder compressie techniek) .
De MSI NX6200AX is voorzien van ruim 256MB sneller werkgeheugen voor textures en het betreft hier het snellere DDR2 geheugen, zodat de effectieve Double Data Rate DDR2 geheugen ook sneller kan werken met een effectieve kloksnelheid van 533 Megahertz DDR

De Geforce 6200 series zoals eerder genoemd ondersteund Shader Model 3.0 en DirectX 9.0c in 3D applicaties en Games en met deze standaarden is de Geforce 6200 dan ook geschikt voor de recentere grafische GUI interface met Aero WDDM 1.0 /1.1 ondersteuning bij besturingsystemen zoals Vista (certified), Windows 7 en Windows 10. Compatibiliteit meldingen van Windows 10 kunt U dan ook negeren en men kan de installatie manueel met behulp van de vele voorgaande oplossing cases beschreven en gefilmd op het Internet.
Als het gaat om de weergave van 2D filmbestanden en streaming dan kan men rekenen op de NVIDIA PureVideo techniek van NVDIA als het gaat om de decoding en weergeven van mediabestanden zonder teveel CPU belasting. Met de Purevideo techniekkan men bestanden zoals; H.264, WMV/VC-1, and MPEG-4 vloeiend weergeven me tondersteuning in de vorm van Hardware Acceleration in Standard Definition en High Definition. Qua connectiviteit is er een digitale DVI-I aansluiting (HDMI optineel met adapter), een VGA aansluiting en een 4 Polige TV-out aansluiting voor S-Video. Tip= Bij hardnekkige installatie problemen met Windows 10 (door DX12, echter de minimale systeem eisen vragen DX 9.0 ?), zoek met zoekmachine; geforce 6600 windows 10 en zie eerste resultaten videokaart probleem van de website Internet begeleiding !

Other Thoughts: had to replace my older card it was a 5200 i believe, piece of crap, it actually melted while inside my comp...bad bad bad....but the 6200 works great very happy with it!

Pros: My computer guy highly recommended this card for both of my, somewhat older, office computers in order to upgrade from the on board video and run wide screen monitors. Im not a gamer but I do watch a lot of videos. I dont have top of the line monitors either so this baby is just what the doctor ordered at a fantastic price.

Pros: A smooth operating card. Moved up from a FX 5500 for games like Age of Empires 3, and works like I wanted. DDR2 was a big plus over the other cards. Included drivers and utilities work perfectly. Overclocking utility works, and allows AoE to run a little higher. Temperatures seem mild for fanless cooling.

Cons: Not for gamers, obviously. Nothing for the price.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my Pentium-III 1Ghz, 512mb RAM, 16mb video card home computer from 2000. My sister wanted to play Rappelz (free MMORPG). After putting in this card, she is able to play at minimum settings, but it looks quite good, considering! Wasn't sure if it would even play at all but I'm pleased with its performance considering it's a 64-bit card.

Pros: Got this for a pc running P4-2.0 (Northwd), 1gb ram, 845 chipset. The fan on my old Ti4200 had started to seize up, so I looked into a replacement card. Preferably cheap and fanless. This one seems to fit the bill, but I was curious about which was really faster. A mid-high end card from a few years ago, or a modern budget card. I also wondered how much of a performance hit the 64-bit memory interface would cause compared to the 4200s 128-bit. So, I did some benchmarks with each. Doom3 (med qual, no AA), 640x480; 4200=26.5, 6200=36.3. 1024x768; 4200=14.5, 6200=18.1. 3Dmark03 (default); 4200=1347, 6200=2198. So, this 6200 beat the 4200 soundly in every benchmark, despite the 64-bit interface. It also has superior video decoding with Purevideo. For this price, Im pretty happy. And I dont have to worry about a fan dying again!

Cons: 64-bit memory interface, but the newer GPU more than compensates for it.

Other Thoughts: Works great under MacOS too, with QE/CI fully supported on dual monitors with 10.4.8.
