2013 EU reissue on 180g Vinyl -Issued to celebrate Virgin's 40th Anniversary.Ennio Morricone has composed and arranged scores for more than 500 film and television productions, making him one of the most influential and best-selling composers of all-time. In 1986 he composed, orchestrated and conducted the Grammy-nominated and Golden Globe-winning soundtrack to Roland Joffe's British drama The Mission which chronicles the journeys of a Jesuit missionary in 18th century South America. The 20-track score includes pieces performed with the traditional tribal group Incantation as well as The London Philharmonic Orchestra. The Mission's enchanting main theme, "Falls" is universally regarded as one of Morricone's finest compositions.
