2012 EU repressed on 180g vinyl 2LP+download-Ram is the fourth album from Paul McCartney to be reissued after the excellent reissues of McCartney I, McCartney II and Band On The Run. Ram was originally published in 1971 and contains the first number one hit song that McCartney had after The Beatles: Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey. When Ram was released McCartney was 28. He and his wife Linda (who died in 1998) wrote most of the songs together on a farm in southwest Scotland. In 1971 there were still a number of less positive reviews (including Rolling Stone magazine), but now the album is widely regarded as a masterpiece and everywhere rated five stars.

RAM, originally released in May of 1971, is the only album to be credited to both Paul and Linda McCartney and was Paul's second post-Beatles LP. It was overshadowed at the time by the drama of the dissolution of The Beatles, as played out in the world's media. The album topped the charts hitting #1 in the UK and #2 in the US. While RAM polarized critics upon its release, music fans and critics alike since have overwhelmingly embraced it, with Rolling Stone, for example, revising their original review up to 4 stars.
